Sexually active people. How many of you have been tested for STD's?

Q: Please be honest. Stats show that less than 40% of adults have been tested for HIV the deadliest of STD's - HIV is always tested in a STD check- so I would assume the number is much lower for herpes testing (which 1 in 4 people have yet 80% don't know) and is NOT included in a standard STD check. This happened to me I got tested after my all my 3 boyfriends and was "clean" and recently 9 months after my last sexual encounter I went with a friend to planned parenthood- (i had gone to my OB/GYN when i tested before)and tested positive for herpes. I called my OBGYN and learned i had NEVER been tested for herpes, i just assumed i had. So all of you who think you're "clean" make sure you really are!! Polo- not to be mean but how do you know she was clean? unless she has been tested you don't know for sure, and wass- condoms don't protect against herpes or hpv/genital warts. just trying to save anyone from going thru what i did!!! Yoland- i was googling it & the reason herpes is not included in a standard std check is because it is not "life threatening" like aids, syphilis, hep c & it doesn't lead to infertility like untreated gonorrhea and chlamydia. so unless you have lesions they don't test. SO STUPID since it is obviously spread unknowingly by the 90% who dont know they have it!!!!!

A: I also found out last week that herpes is not a usual STD testing when I got the test done it was positive mind u I have 2 kids so I would think that this would of been one of the test that they give when they are testing a pregnant woman for STD. But for whatever reason the herpes test is not included.
